First Summer Day with Donnie
Donnie spent the weekend. I felt like this was my first true summer-type day with him, because on Friday, after picking him up from school, Jojo, him and I rode our bikes to Wequiock Falls and walked around there. On our way back we rode down Church Rd. hill and went down to Joliet Park. It was a super calm day on the water. No wind. I think the perfect temperature, the lack of wind and bugs was setting all our moods high. We all agreed that this was a great idea. After a taxing pedal up Church Rd. hill, we got home and grilled hamburgers on the grill and sat and ate on the porch. We also played 20 questions which I think Donnie enjoyed much.
Saturday we all went down the Green Bay Open Streets to ride our bikes on a closed down Main Street. We first stopped to talk to Skateboard Cop at the GBASO tent and then drode down to the farmer’s market. It was nice to just walk up and down and look at the people and the vendors. We just bought some snacks and enjoyed the weather. We decided to ride all the way down to the end, which was by Fisk Park, driving on the River Walk. On the way back we stopped at the antique store and the new bike shop, Broken Spoke, to get Donnie’s brakes fixed. Then we ate at Glass Nickel Pizza and sat outside. Donnie and I explained to Jojo what Sponge Bob Squarepants was. The rest of the day was me trying to get some work done on the computer and I worked on my plague doctor mask and Donnie played minecraft and did other things on the computer.
Sunday, I brought Ed and Kristy to the airport for the beginning of house-sitting/cat tending. Jojo and I spent the night there and watched the movie The Fisher King.
