Arthur's First Real Christmas
Christmas has ended and it was a good one. It was the first Christmas Arthur was more aware what was going on and he was excited about it and opened his own gifts. On Christmas Eve, Erin’s parents, and Donnie came over and we ate meat pie and opened gifts. Arthur got a tent and a toddler toolbench and many other things and he was excited to play with them right away. Donnie is such a nice son and plays with Arthur and is really nice to have around. He is done with his first semester at Madison. He had a few struggles, but overall he did well. I am proud of him and the young man he has become. Arthur is such a joy too. I feel like he is at the cutest age as he is learning to talk better with short multi-syllable words that are getting closer to sounding recognizable. For example, for “sit” it sounds like he is saying “heat”. He is commanding as he asks us to take his hand and leads us somewhere, and demands us to sit and play. He loves to walk outside and hold our hands and be by us and play. I really love that. I just adore that little boy as he bumbles and buzzes around like a truck. I can’t even convey how he makes my heart swell with love. The Krampus puppet performance happened on December 11th. It was sold out and most people said they enjoyed it a lot. We worked very hard on it and 15 people helped put it together. Joel wrote the story and I made a lot of the props. Erin made a pyromancer puppet which was great. My favorite part is that my sister, Helen, and her family got to attend and see what I made. Other than that, the fall had been great as we finished the last mural and the weather was nice. It was good to get to spend some time with Arthur outside. It is my greatest joy these days, to get to see him grow and learn. He is such a sweetie.
I am still working at Fern Creek helping design the benefits app.
