The Same Song My Momma Sang
Arthur has been staying home with me a few days a week, until I can find a job and spending time with him is my most favorite thing. I am just entertained and amazed by him and his antics. I try to see things through his eyes and all the things he is taking in and digesting and regurgitating just delights me to no end. I don’t even know how to explain it except to try to write it here so I remember. I don’t even know if I am supposed to remember and dwell on such things as it is fleeting and amazing. The way he draws and invents, and plays with his trucks, and wants his treats, and negotiates for things based upon the rules that he sees us lay out for him is fantastic. He is so interested in everything; in learning his world and playing in it. I love this little boy. He can’t stay still many times because he likes to dance and he gets so excited about so many things. He is a sensitive little boy that loves to live in his little warm world with his mamma and dadda and cat and dog. Sometimes he will just look at me and smile and I wonder what he’s thinking. One of my favorites is at bedtime when he is supposed to be sleeping, he is especially cute and cuddly and likes for me to sing the same song my momma sang to me. I like that he makes little sounds like he did when he was a baby. Little coos and hums.
