The Milwaukee Public Museum
We went to Milwaukee this weekend. We met Erin’s friend Allie and her husband Erik, and child Alec, and Wes too. We stayed in a hotel in Silver City, Milwaukee. Wes met us for dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. Then we all went swimming. Arthur like swimming in the pools in hotels. Afterward Wes and I had a beer in the restaurant. The next day we had breakfast in the hotel and then went to the Mitchell Park Domes to view the botanical gardens. I haven’t been there since I was a kid so it was really nice to see. I am at a point in my life that I really enjoy this stuff and enjoy watching Arthur take it all in. Then we went to the Public Market, and then to Cafe Benelux, one of my favorite places, for lunch. then we walked to a record store the Alec wanted to see. I bought a Grateful Dead vinyl record. We played on the playground out side there fora while. I recognized the neighborhood from when I was thinking about attending MSOE after high school. Then we went to Pfister Hotel to check out the art there and get a coffee. We then went to meet a fellow muralist, Jaya, at his studio, which was above a skate park, which was really cool. We talked to him about his practice and future plans. That night we ate korean food at a restaurant down the street. The next morning, we went to breakfast at Story Hill. It was a great breakfast. Then we went to my favorite, thing the Milwaukee Public Museum. I say it was my favorite because I absolutely loved watching Arthur’s reaction to everything as he was so excited to see everything and it would run up and jump up and down when he would see an exhibit, especially the dinosaurs! I would just follow him around and watch his reaction. It made my day and my weekend. There was so much to see there I can’t even explain it. We visited Wes’s apartment after that and then left to go home. It was a really nice weekend. I enjoy spending time with my family very much.
