Turtles on the Mississippi

Don Krumpos · Diary

Today Donnie and Logan came to visit us. They came over for dinner on the Thursday and we went to Red’s on the Friday. I taught a screenprinting class at Peninsula School of Art on Saturday.

We went to Powers, Michigan on the Memorial Day weekend to hang out with Erin’s family. It was fun to watch Arthur running around the woods behind Grandpa’s house with his cousins. It reminded me of when I was a kid and would love running around. Arthur had his 4K graduation on the 30th.Grandma and Grandpa and Wes came. I am so proud of my little boy. I was able to finish a screenprint poster for DKAF party on June 6th. June 7th, Rachelle and Eric came over and Josh Clark and he brought a fish that we cooked on the open fire. We all went to Caffe Tlazo the next morning I started to play Super Mario Bros. with Arthur on a emulator on his laptop. He really likes it. A little too much. Erin and I went to Madison for roadtrip. We stayed in Madison the first night and went to Sardine. The next day we walked around the Farmer’s Market, went to MMOCA and then met Donnie and Logan for breakfast. We walked back to the Union Terrace and got a beer with them and then we marched in the No King’s Protest. We drove to Perro State Park and had a really nice hike on the ridge the next morning. We went to Fountain City and had a beer at Monarch Public House. We set up camp at Merrick State Park. It was turtle egg laying seasons, so we saw a plethora of turtles on the island on the Missippi. We paddled out among the sloughs, came back, had dinner, and then a nice campfire. the next morning we had another nice paddle.

On June 21st we went our our camping trip to Peninsula State Park with Wes, Donnie and Logan. We went to the amphitheatre that night and saw the Dairy Heirs. I was very pleasantly surprised that Arthur not only, made it through the whole musical, but actually liked it and was laughing at some of the parts. We hung out at the campfire and at the beach for most of the time. We took a few excursions to Bailey’s Harbor, Mud Lake, and Cana Island. The next day we also went to Ephraim, Mini Golfing and Peach Barn Brewing. Donnie and Logan left. The next morning we went to White Gull Inn for breakfast and then headed home
