Into the Mountains

Don Krumpos · Diary

We drove through Indianapolis, Louisville and as we headed south through Kentucky, the Appalachian Mountains came into view and the driving got to be a lot more fun with a prettier view. We went into Virginia and stopped at the Natural Tunnel State Park, where we took a chairlift down into a valley and saw a huge natural cave where a railroad track went through. It was beautiful down there.

We continued to Tennessee and stopped in the Cherokee National Forest to camp. The crickets were loud and the Rock Creek running.
